GREETINGS

On behalf of the three hundred and nine members of Epsilon Gamma Omega (EGO) Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated., I welcome you to our official website!  This website is designed to house information and be useful.  Please enjoy.

Epsilon Gamma Omega was established at Alabama A. & M. College on March 19, 1949.  Two of the charter members, Evangeline Spillman and Fannie Pulley Thompson are today still very active in the chapter.  Over the past sixty years, the chapter has centered its activities around programs geared to meet the need of the Huntsville and surrounding communities while following the international office guidelines.  The activities have included the sponsorship of various civic, cultural and social affairs and we have collaborated with other organizations with similar interests.

Our longest standing service and best known project is the Annual Debutante Presentation and Ball.  This 2012 year, we celebrate our fifty-fourth year.  Thousands of young ladies have taken part in cultural training sessions, presented their talents and developed artful keepsakes in the form of a scrapbook.  Substantial Scholarships are awarded yearly.  Other projects include but not limited to:  Reading is Fundamental, Girl of the Month, Ivy AKAdemy Star Student, Historical Black College Financial Support, Economic Growth of the Black Family, and fighting health issues such as diabetes.

As our national organization continues its second centennial of existence, EGO looks forward to continued service to Huntsville, the South Eastern Region, and the World.

It is with enthusiasm that our EGO Technology Committee designed and presents this website.  Thank you for your interest and continued support.

Sisterly,

Blannie Q. Batts

EGO President
